Are you going to lead or follow?

I read the other day that since the election, President-elect Barack Obama and his transition team have received more than 300,000 applications for employment from all walks of life, compared to about 44,000 at this stage of the game when the Bush administration first came into office. That number is staggering. Why do so many people want to grab Obama’s coattails? Let’s think about what makes a great leader. Integrity. Honor. Strong work ethic. Passion for the cause. Ability to create change and take action. Does Obama possess all these traits? Clearly, there are millions of people banking that he does. Do you have these traits? Do you have customers that would follow you, knowing that you can “make things happen” for them and the bigger picture? Some people are natural leaders and others are better, more successful followers. What are you?
