Why you should care what other people think


Your mother probably told you, “Don’t worry about what other people think about you – do what you feel is right.” Or something like that. Growing up and even as adults, we continue to walk a fine line of being true to ourselves and trying to be something or someone for somebody else. So while, in general, you shouldn’t worry too much about what others think about you, when it comes to being the Super VAR, it is critical to know what others are saying about you and your business. And if it’s all good – and I hope it is – harness those accolades to your advantage now! Customer success stories are one of the best and most effective pieces of your marketing mix. Do you know what your customers are saying about you? Have you ever written down their thoughts about you? Asked for a testimonial? Actually listened to their feedback and put it to good use? Chances are, your customer’s success stories could be the foundation of what makes you the Super VAR that you are. How have you impacted their business in order to make them successful? Are they willing to share those stories with you? Will they give you permission to share their stories with others? Your customers are your biggest asset in so many ways. Make sure you use those assets whenever you can.
