–       A consumer is three times more likely to trust a peer review than an advertisement.

–       A single word-of-mouth conversation has the impact of 200 television ads.

How many reviews do you think might be posted about you on your Facebook page? Which customers or vendors would provide you with testimonials about your expertise—recommendations that you could highlight on your LinkedIn profile? These few statistics show that viral marketing is here to stay, and social networking is an integral part of the marketing mix. You simply need to differentiate yourself from your competition, which is actually easier to do through social networking because of the word-of-mouth opportunities and the trust factor. If you’re not on the bandwagon, it’s time to jump aboard.
