Are your customers more likely to buy from you if they see you on Facebook?

Here’s an interesting tidbit of information I read on emarketer: New studies show that those who connect through social media are more likely to purchase from the brands they are fans of. More than half of the Facebook fans surveyed said they would make purchases from a few brands, and 67 percent of the Twitter users said the same thing. And don’t forget recommending a brand to a friend (here’s the viral aspect of social media, right?). Many of the top reasons for following a brand through social networking was to receive discounts or to show support for the brand. Up-to-the-minute information was also a main draw, especially for Twitter. So are you still wondering why you really need fans for your Facebook page or people following you on Twitter? How do you present your brand? How many fans and followers do you have? The more you connect with your customers and create brand awareness, the more likely they are to buy from you. And clearly, social media is a big part of brand awareness these days.
